ROBERT SHUMAY – Owner, Pure Way of Asheville
Rob’s career began in 1989 as an attorney in private practice. By 1990, he already secured a unanimous victory in the Ohio Supreme Court over turning a 50 year old law restricting land use. In 1993, Rob began serving as Corporate Counsel for The Scott Fetzer Company, A Berkshire Hathaway subsidiary. Rob moved into operations at the Kirby Company, eventually working with a sales network across more than 60 countries. In 2011, Rob became Vice President at Carico International. Rob’s responsibilities included product product development ushering a wide range of new products. In 2024, Rob left to focus on Pure Way.
Rob is also a writer for
The Mountain Breeze, a newspaper serving Western Carolina. Rob enjoys boating and hiking. Rob also is an owner of and hosts a weekly sports podcast on
